Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Psychologist Registrar Positions (Contractor), Bondi Junction Practice

We’re recruiting Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Psychologist Registrars to join our team at the Sydney Anxiety Clinic working three or more days per week. We have multiple contractor positions available in our newly refurbished, purpose-designed consulting rooms. Hours are negotiable. The capacity to work some evenings until 7pm is favourable.

Successful applicants must be able to offer best practice treatment for anxiety, mood and behavioural challenges. We welcome candidates with additional specific interest areas, such as perinatal anxiety and depression, trauma or eating disorders, and offer the freedom to choose your preferred evidence-based modalities. Early career psychologists wishing to commence private practice within a supportive team are welcomed.

About the Sydney Anxiety Clinic

Sydney Anxiety Clinic is conveniently situated within the Bondi Junction commercial and transport hub, meaning easy access for clients and psychologists. We provide leading-edge, evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, depression, challenging or traumatic life experiences, perinatal anxiety and other emotional and behavioural difficulties for adults, children and adolescents. We offer individual, couples, family and group therapy and work closely with a range of allied health professionals. The practice hosts a weekly evening mindfulness meditation group.

Essential Criteria 

  • Completion of a Master or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology

  • Current Medicare provider status (or eligibility and willingness to obtain) as well as registration with AHPRA with endorsement in clinical psychology (or eligibility within the next 18 months)

  • Your own ABN or ABN/ACN

  • Professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Other relevant insurances as required.

  • Availability to work at least three days per week, including some evenings until 7pm

  • Strong foundation in CBT with established skills in other therapeutic modalities such as DBT, ACT, Schema or Narrative Therapy

  • Strong assessment and formulation skills

  • Outstanding attention to detail; and written, oral and record-keeping skills

  • Commitment to professional development

  • A strong work ethic and willingness to contribute to the team

  • A mature, flexible and warm communication style

  • A strong understanding of and commitment to upholding professional ethics; and legal and statutory requirements

  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents is an advantage
